From April 25th to 27th, the Tzu Chi Vision Mobile Clinic visited Roeding Elementary School and Harvest Elementary School in Fresno to help children from low-income families in the Central Valley area of California have a chance at academic success unhampered by vision issues.

On Thursday, May 4, 2023, volunteers and medical professionals from the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation (TCMF) set out with community partners for a special event at Madison Elementary School in Fresno, California. On this day, a milestone achievement was reached for the See 2 Succeed vision program during volunteers’ routine service event visit, wherein the 5,000th pair of eyeglasses was dispensed since the program’s inception in 2015.

During the emergency relief distribution after the 2023 Planada flood, Tzu Chi volunteers found that local residents were in great need of medical services, so they expanded their services from charitable services to also include medical care. On April 28th, the volunteers conducted a special clinic activity to provide free eye care services to residents.

To combat respiratory disease experienced by many residents, in July 2021, Tzu Chi Medical Foundation and Harbor Community Benefit Foundation, HCBF donated 150 air purifiers to low-income families with family members with respiratory illness in Wilmington and San Pedro, Southern California, respectively.
