On July 17, 2025, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation (BTCMF) was honored at the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF)’s Healthcare Champions of Change Reception with the Community Advocate Award.

Representing BTCMF, Board Member Debra Boudreaux gratefully accepted the award and delivered heartfelt remarks. She shared, “At the heart of Tzu Chi Medical’s mission is the belief that compassion in action can heal not only illness, but also fear, inequity, and despair.”

Advancing Health Equity Together

APIAHF is the nation’s leading policy organization dedicated to health equity for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Through law, policy, and practice, they work toward a healthier future inspired and driven by community.

BTCMF’s work directly contributes to this vision by striving to advance health equity — one patient, one community at a time. This recognition affirms BTCMF’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that compassionate, high-quality healthcare is accessible to all, especially those in underserved communities.

A Shared Honor

BTCMF was deeply honored to be recognized alongside the Oklahoma Micronesian Coalition. Together, the two organizations were celebrated for their contributions to improving the health and well-being of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities nationwide.

Our meaningful partnership with APIAHF continues to grow stronger as we work hand in hand to expand access to care, address inequities, and advocate for healthier futures. Guided by compassion and care, BTCMF remains committed to relieving suffering and treating every patient like family — regardless of nationality, ethnicity, or religion.

A Commitment to Transparency

In addition to this recognition, BTCMF is proud to share another achievement: Candid has awarded us the 2024 Platinum Seal of Transparency. This distinction reflects our commitment to accountability, openness, and the trust we strive to uphold with every patient, partner, and supporter.

Looking Ahead

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Tzu Chi Medical team and our dedicated volunteers, whose tireless efforts make recognitions like these possible. Their compassion, skill, and commitment bring our mission to life each day.

Together, we will continue striving to advance health equity, one patient and one community at a time.
