After over two decades of kind, compassionate service, he has taken the reins at Tzu Chi Medical Foundation (TCMF), stepping up as Chief Executive Officer after the retirement of the dedicated Dr. William Keh. With his extensive experience both as a practicing physician and head of one of Tzu Chi’s Medical clinics, Dr. Denq is sure to guide Tzu Chi’s medical mission to new heights.

As the pandemic has progressed, the Tzu Chi Medical Foundation has procured and donated personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitizing supplies to more than a thousand medical institutions across the United States. In meeting with many of their representatives, staff and volunteers at Tzu Chi Medical discovered how constricted time was for lunch breaks at healthcare facilities. As a result, a new initiative was born: “A Better Meal, A Better Earth,” where, beginning May 19, 2020, Tzu Chi Medical began donating vegetarian lunches to healthcare workers alongside PPE donations.
The Alzheimer’s Association and the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation are pleased to announce the expansion of their partnership to better reach and engage the Chinese-American community by providing important information relating to Alzheimer’s detection, diagnosis, care, treatment, research, and advocacy.
On April 24, a team from Tzu Chi Medical Foundation made its way to the Methodist Hospital of Southern California, with a donation of PPE, including 10,000 surgical masks, 1,000 N95 respirators, 80 pairs of goggles, and ten sets of protective coveralls.
Recognizing the widespread shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) in hospitals nationwide, volunteers from Tzu Chi’s Northwest Region established a ‘PPE Response Team,’ taking immediate action on March 28th to donate medical supplies to selected Santa Clara County hospitals.
