Diabetes Awareness and Prevention : a Tzu Chi Healthy Community Workshop

Did you know that more than half of Californians over the age of 40 have diabetes or prediabetes? And that Asians are among the higher risk groups of developing these conditions?

Join us for this workshop to understand how to effectively lower your diabetes risk. With the guidance of special guest clinical dietitian and diabetes educator Jennie Quon, RD, CDCES, we will discuss:

  • What diabetes and prediabetes are
  • Risk factors for these conditions
  • How to apply evidence-based lifestyle modifications to lower our risk of diabetes and other chronic diseases

About Our Speaker

Jennie Quon, RD, CDCES, is a clinical dietitian and diabetes educator at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation. She provides nutrition counseling and wellness coaching to individuals, groups, and organizations with a wide range of health concerns and nutrition goals.

Jennie’s approach to optimize health and wellness blends a conventional health care and nutrition background with natural and evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle therapies. She is also enthusiastic about promoting nutrition and health in the community.

Jennie currently serves as a consultant for the Chinese Health Initiative (CHI) at El Camino Hospital, pioneering the first Chinese-language Diabetes Prevention Program in the California Bay Area.
