Through its Vision to Succeed program, Tzu Chi Medical Foundation’s (TCMF’s) New York Vision Mobile Clinic is committed to providing essential vision services that can dramatically improve the quality of life.
Staffed with a team of licensed optometrists and fully outfitted with ophthalmic equipment, the Vision Mobile Clinic offers comprehensive vision screenings and produces prescription eyeglasses at no cost, all in one day.
Healthy vision and early treatment can affect learning, job performance, safety, and more. However, individuals and families across the United States may delay or forgo medical care due to affordability concerns, barriers in transportation, and limited resources.
With this, the Vision to Succeed program team reaches out to schools in underserved communities across Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx to hold four monthly eye care events that aim to serve as many students as possible, providing the vision treatment they need to do well in school and reach their potential.
In 2023, Tzu Chi New York’s Mobile Clinic services will incorporate a Dental Mobile Clinic. This joint effort will elevate Tzu Chi New York’s mission to make healthcare more accessible, helping ensure individuals receive the patient-focused care they need, regardless of income. Through this addition, Tzu Chi will help individuals access critical services, empowering them to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
